Cushion cover, embroidered cranes
Thêu tay — hand embroidery; two cranes in split thread on hand-loomed silk, backed in linen.

Lê Thị Hoa
Two cranes — the bird of long life on the old altar cloths — in thread split into four, on a square of Vạn Phúc silk, backed in linen with a hidden zip. Four weeks of mornings for each cover.
For a chair that is sat in. Silk embroidery is stronger than it looks, and the cranes have survived four hundred years of cushions.
